Pizhichal is a specialized treatment of Ancient Ayurveda for "Snehan & Swedan", or the Purvakarma as a fortified effects for the patient's well-being. Pizhichal is a very effective treatment for Vata diseases.This is generally indicated in Paralysis, Hemiphlegia, etc.It is highly beneficial for the management of Neuro-muscular, Orthopedic, and the Rheumatological disorders. Pizhichal is also a soothing therapy for body rejuvenation. Usually a period of 6 to 7 days to 14 or 21 days of Pizhichal can be administered to certain cases and for a few cases it can be given on regular intervals of every 2 or 3 days. For a case of pitta associated Vata diseases, cold oil is applied for the treatment, and lukewarm oil I cases of diseases caused by the vitiating of Vata and kasha diseases. In any case the oil applied on the head should be only cold oil. (DHARA can be done alongside of Pizhichal).
"Snehan & swedan", are also known as the "Purvakarma", or pre-treatment steps or the initial steps for body cleansing. They are followed by "Shodan", the later
understanding of the "Panchakarma". The five practical aims of Ayurveda in the treatment of the diseases. The main aim of "Panchakarma", is to reverse the diseases
and bringing back the body into the normal(original), state of disease less conditions. "Shodan", directly puts the patients to the "Panchakarma" experiences of vamana(emesis),
virechana(purgation), vasti(enema), nasyam(nasal administration), and finally Rakta-mokshana(blood-letting). The gross benefits of "Panchakarma" is elimination of body toxins,
opening up the blocked channels, improving the strength of the digestive fire, recovering metabolism, reducing the body weight, relaxing the mind and boosting up the immunity.
One of the most popular therapy practiced in the ancient Ayurveda. Potli massage is a mixed spices, herbs, churan, and other herbal mixtures and oil are mediated in a
warm condition(not cooking or deep frying or warming), collected in a square cloth to make it as a bolster(boluses), are applied with with warm oil. The Potli is repeated
applied and rolled in the warm oil and applied by fomentation method to allow the herbal juices to spread in the body tissues. The Potli massage is highly beneficial for
rheumatism, Arthrits, spondylitis, osteo-arthritis, frozen shoulders,and for pains & inflammations. Potli massage gives good sleep, removes the toxins from the blood
level & the tissue level, enhances blood circulation,and brings a good change in the body pain. Patients feel most comfort by this treatment.
Navarakizhi is again a classical form of Ayurveda therapy by Keraliya parambaria chikitsa. The treatment procedure Navara, a specific variety of rice,cooked in the
medium of milk,and the herbal decoctions, added and made into the form of bolsters, is used to massaging the body all over, after the oil application. Navarakizhi
tones up the muscles, improves the bone health, and enhances the blood circulation.
Tarpanam is a widely executed therapeutic procedure for the treatment of the ophthalmological diseases. Eyes are completely made to have a boundary wall like a
well and it is purely bathed by medicated ghee for a specific time. The patient should keep closed eyes or open eyes and remain in the therapy bed for those minutes
of therapy. It helps to improve the vision, and prevent the degenerative diseases caused by the optical nerves. After the therapy, the patient will have good and clear vision.
The word Tarpana is derived from the root 'trup', by adding 'lyut' pratyaya', it became tarpana, which means nourishment to the eyes by fatty materials.
Katibasti is a general Ayurvedic therapy for the rejuvenation of the lumbar-sacral region. In general "Katti", means low back or lumbar region,
vasti, means retention of hot fluids in that particular lumbar region. This is a very effective and a skillful treatment in the management of back pain,
sciatica, low back pain, lumbago, and other back aches etc. One can achieve both oleation & sudation in the pain region. Pacifiers Vata, reduces
pain & inflammation, good blood circulation in the lumbar region, removes rigidity and spasm in the lumbar region, repairs the chronic pain in the
lumbar region. (Similarly Janubasti-concentration of the oils on the knee, greeva-vasti, oil retention in the centre of the neck are commonly
adopted other vasti therapies).

Nasyam, the Administrative therapy of the medicinal oils through the nasal route. Nasyam, is one of the classical Panchakarma treatment to detox the
nasal channel and to to clean the psycho-neuro origin too. Nasyam opens up the clogged nasal route and maintains the system to function better.
In chronic head-aches, nasal blocks, decongestions are cleared in a short time treatment. Facial palsy, headaches, sinus, cataract, and the
hyper-pigmentation of the face are the other benefits of Nasyam. Nasya is most important therapy as it is used for the treatment of supra-sternal
diseases(Urdhvajatrugata-Roga). Nose is the gateway of head, the drug administered through the nose, reaches the head, brain, & eliminates the
morbid bio-humors responsible for the diseases. Nasya is also very beneficial for Parkinson's disease and hiccough etc.
Retention of medicated oils on the head has the most benefits of the therapeutic efficacy. It's very ancient practice of Ayurveda in the
Neuro-degenerative diseases. Shirobasti should be carefully administered by the Doctors or the trained therapists. Mental stress and
the neuro degenerative diseases are very commonly cured by shirobasti. To hold or to retain is the direct understanding of Basti'.
Udwarthanam, is one of the most sought Ayurvedic treatments for the weight loss management. It is a special deep tissue massage
using herbal powders(churan), alongside of medicated ated ghee or oils for the snigdha udwarthanam. In this case the snigdha udwarthanam
will help the adipose tissues to loose fat, and also the skin disorders are given benefits too. The outer skin gets the good glow and luster.
Ruksha udwarthana, is mainly used for the removal of excess fats from the body. It is a dry and rough scrubbing of the medicated powders
of loosening the body fat and reduce the body weight as well.
